Lisitng is for a Pre-owned Robinair TIF8900 Handheld Combustible Gas Detector with Charger
The TIF Instruments TIF8900 Handheld Combustible Gas Detector is a handheld combustive gas detector designed to rapidly detect gas using its innovative solid-state sensor technology. The TIF8900 is ideal for pinpointing known leaks, checking for leaks, and verifying safety of potentially hazardous locations. Some applications for the TIF8900 gas leak detector: gas lines and pipes, fuel marine bilges, exhaust and fuel leaks, propane filling stations, indoor air quality test (IAQ), and heat exchanger leaks.
- Solid state sensor technology, long life and precision
- Broad band of combustible gas detection
- Sensitivity as low as 5 ppm
- Adjustable sensitivity
- Audible “Geiger counter” signal
- LED leak intensity lights
- Flexible 16” stainless probe for hard to reach places
The TIF8900 combustible gas detector sounds like a "Geiger counter" as it sniffs out leaks of natural gas, LP gas as well as other flammables. As you get closer to the leak and the concentration increases, the tick rate speeds up and the LED visual leak indicators on the front of the instrument will light from left to right as a combustible is detected. The larger the concentration, the more LEDs will light.
The TIF8900 gas detector is simple to operate. The combustible gas detector has a sensitivity adjustment that makes it easy to quickly “zero in” on leak sources and sensitive enough to be able to detect small leaks at gas shut-off valves and through the aluminum bodies of automatic gas valves in equipment.
The sensing probe is on the end of a 16” stainless steel flexible shaft that will easily bend and then retain the shape. This makes it easy to check the “back side” of a pipe fitting or mechanical assembly. The probe and the meter extend about 24” to reach into difficult areas.
The combustible gas detector TIF8900 only has a 30-second warm-up and will run for up to 4 hours on its rechargeable batteries. The batteries take a couple of hours to fully charge. The batteries in the Robinair TIF8900 are a unique Ni-Cad cell and TIF recommends that you only use the TIF8806A Rechargeable Ni-Cad Battery pack when you need to replace them.
