The FRB was designed at the request of some high speed medic who had a requirement for a larger aid bag. Because the bag is larger than most, if not all, the First Responder Bags on the market, they requested that it be made in 500 D Cordura to reduce the weight. It does that, weighing in at one pound, twelve ounces.
The zippers are all #10 and #8 YKK, and the hardware is all ITW/Nexus. The bag is about 14 inches wide by 10 inches tall and about 7 inches deep in the middle. The face has a holster for trauma shears, and a 4" deep by 14" wide zippered pocket below it. The bottom of the bag has 3 rows by 6 channels of PALS webbing, and compression straps to secure a pole-less litter. The waist strap is two inch wide Cordura webbing and closed via a two inch Side Release Fatsex buckle. Each side of the waist belt has a triangular zippered pocket, as well as an expandable mesh pocket on the back. Above the mesh pocket are two ¾ inch tabs for securing the bag in a helicopter , truck or other vehicle. The inside of the bag has a large pocket against the back, with two flat six inch wide pockets and a two inch wide flat pocket between them. There are eight elastic loops for securing dressings and bandages. The bottom of the main pocket has two snap down elastic loops for securing tape, and another ten inch by four inch pocket on the opposite side. Six more elastic loops are added to that pocket.
The FRB is 100% American made of the finest available American materials.
